Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Implementation:
- Design and implement robust Azure Virtual Network (VNet) architectures to support scalable and secure cloud solutions.
- Configure and manage Azure network controls such as Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways, and Application Gateways.
- Integrate enterprise networks with Azure environments, ensuring seamless hybrid connectivity.
- Firewall Configuration & Management:
- Deploy, configure, and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls within Azure and on-premises environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create sensible and effective firewall rules that balance security and performance.
- Monitor firewall activity, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations to address evolving needs.
- Network Troubleshooting & Optimization:
- Diagnose and resolve network performance issues within Azure and hybrid enterprise environments.
- Conduct root cause analyses for recurring network problems and recommend long-term solutions.
- Utilize Azure monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Network Watcher, Azure Monitor) to ensure network health and reliability.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure network designs and configurations align with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
- Implement Azure-native security features, such as DDoS Protection, Private Link, and Just-in-Time (JIT) access.
- Conduct periodic audits to validate compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with cloud architects, security teams, and IT operations to align network solutions with business objectives.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology diagrams, firewall rule sets, and configuration guidelines.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for IT staff on Azure network best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise networks, including hybrid cloud environments.
- 2+ years of experience with Azure networking services and configurations.
- Proven experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls or similar enterprise-class firewalls.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Azure networking components, including VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Route Tables, VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP).
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls: configuration, rule creation, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI) for managing network resources.
- Knowledge of network security principles and zero-trust architecture.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
