AVD Security Auditor

Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Auditing & Assessment:
    • Conduct comprehensive audits of the Azure Virtual Desktop environment to identify security vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
    • Develop and maintain security checklists and frameworks aligned with PBMM standards and organizational requirements.
    • Evaluate existing configurations, policies, and procedures against industry best practices.
  • Policy & Configuration Enhancement:
    • Design and implement security policies for Azure Virtual Desktops, ensuring adherence to PBMM compliance.
    • Optimize AVD configurations, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access, and endpoint security policies.
    • Recommend and deploy tools to monitor and enhance security postures.
  • Digital Guardian Integration:
    • Implement and manage Digital Guardian solutions for advanced data loss prevention and endpoint monitoring.
    • Ensure seamless integration of Digital Guardian with Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
    • Analyze Digital Guardian telemetry data to identify threats and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with security, compliance, and IT infrastructure teams to align desktop security initiatives with organizational goals.
    • Provide clear reporting and documentation of audit findings, proposed improvements, and implemented changes.
    • Offer guidance and training to internal teams on maintaining security compliance and best practices.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response:
    • Set up continuous monitoring for AVD security threats and anomalies.
    • Lead incident investigations related to AVD and Digital Guardian solutions, ensuring rapid resolution and documentation.


Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) administration and security.
    • Proven experience working with PBMM compliance or equivalent security frameworks.
    • 2+ years of experience with Digital Guardian
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including Azure AD, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center.
    • Expertise in configuring and securing Azure Virtual Desktops in enterprise environments.
    • Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI) for security tasks.
    • Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, and VPNs as they relate to AVD.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
    • Other relevant certifications in security or compliance.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams.
