Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an ADAI PM with strong technical skills, or a regular senior project manager with an overarching management, coordination, and client-facing responsibilities. Ideally the candidate would have the experience delivering complex migration projects or projects with migration planning. The role is full-time for 5 months. 

Core Project Management Skills

1. Strategic Oversight:

• Ensuring the project aligns with the client’s business objectives and strategic goals.
• Balancing technical workstreams with overall project deliverables.

2. Project Planning & Execution:

• Developing high-level project plans, milestones, and timelines that incorporate technical deliverables.
• Managing interdependencies between technical and non-technical workstreams.

3. Resource Management:

• Allocating resources efficiently, including balancing workload across technical and support teams.
• Onboard & offboard

4. Risk Management:

• Identifying risks at the project level (e.g., scope creep, resource constraints, stakeholder misalignment).
• Creating and maintaining risk mitigation plans.

5. Scope Management:

• Ensuring project stays within agreed scope and managing scope changes with stakeholders effectively.

6. Budget & Financial Management:

• Tracking project budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring financial accountability.
• Communicating with stakeholders about budget adjustments when necessary.

Client-Facing Skills

7. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Building and maintaining trust with the client by demonstrating professionalism and reliability.
• Understanding the client’s priorities and adapting plans accordingly.

8. Effective Communication:

• Serving as the primary liaison between the customer and internal teams.
• Explaining progress, challenges, and key decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

9. Expectation Management:

• Setting realistic timelines and deliverables for the client while balancing team capacity.
• Managing client expectations about the technical complexities or delays.

10. Conflict Resolution:

• Addressing and resolving any conflicts between client needs and internal constraints.
• Mediating issues between technical teams and the customer when misunderstandings arise.

Leadership and Team Coordination Skills

11. Team Collaboration:

• Fostering collaboration between technical teams and other business units, ensuring alignment.
• Bridging communication gaps between technical and non-technical staff.

12. Motivational Leadership:

• Inspiring confidence and maintaining team morale under tight deadlines or technical challenges.

13. Agile Practices:

• Coordinating Agile or iterative development cycles while ensuring client updates at every sprint.

14. Adaptability:

• Adjusting project approaches or strategies in response to changing customert demands or project dynamics.

Documentation & Reporting

15. Reporting & Metrics:

• Preparing project status reports, KPIs, and dashboards for client review.
• Providing summaries of technical progress in a way that resonates with business stakeholders.

16. Contract & Deliverable Management:

• Ensuring contract terms are met, including on-time delivery of agreed outputs.
• Documenting all agreements, change requests, and updates transparently.

Soft Skills for Relationship Building

17. Negotiation:

• Navigating discussions on scope changes, deadlines, or additional budget needs with professionalism.
