Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monthly forecasting with Director
  • Confirm accuracy and relevance of reporting and provide reports as needed for finance and operations
  • Analyze variances as needed (income statement and balance sheet)
  • Experience overseeing all aspects of accounting functions (A/R, A/P, GL, Billing and Revenue Recognition)
  • Development and streamlining of internal processes
  • Effective utilization of programs to manage the cash flow (vendor programs, net 60 terms) and forecasting, as well as operations funding
  • Confirm accuracy of all information in Great Plains and reports
  • Meet all monthly reporting deadlines and assist in preparation of reports for both monthly and quarterly reviews
  • Development and streamlining of internal processes
  • Oversee audits and tax preparation with external firms and manage financial statement preparation, tax returns, and SRED claims ensuring compliance with corporate deadlines, as well as provincial and federal tax filing deadlines
  • Insure company assets are protected by implementing effective risk management practices and internal control systems.
  • Implement a strong internal controlled environment and apply internal policies 
  • Reconcile monthly balance sheets and confirm all accounts are understood
  • Implement new processes to improve cost savings 
  • Ensure timely payments of commissions 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or business administration and CPA designation
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience (technology or services industry ideally)
  • Asset - knowledge of Great Plains and IFRS and Great Plains
  • MUST be eligible for Reliability level Government of Canada security clearance
