Level III Linux/HPC Technical Support

  • Post-sale support of company products and systems
  • Technical support for product installations and post-install maintenance to ensure system functionality per the specifications
  • Working with third-party software and analyzing system software to ensure functionality with clients’ systems and environment
  • Troubleshooting both hardware and software issues
  • Escalating issues to specific product support groups and appropriate management to ensure a timely resolution of system/customer issues
  • Providing support in a professional and timely manner to ensure system functionality and customer satisfaction
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience (preferably in a High-Performance-Computing (HPC) or Supercomputing related area of Linux/UNIX operating systems, file systems, networking and security (5+ years of experience)
  • Knowledge of specific needs of HPC users desired programming and scripting knowledge (Perl, Python, C, Fortran, etc.)
  • Ability to utilize debugging tools for issue isolation, maintain system software, provide software builds, software upgrades and patch installation as needed
  • Strong ability to gather data, escalate to a higher level support, and the ability to gather knowledge quickly
  • As this is a customer facing role, excellent communication skills (English, written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer relation skills, problem management skills, and the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure (strict deadlines)
  • GPFS experience is desired
  • Must hold a valid Secret clearance (or in the process of obtaining a secret clearance, ie.: have already applied over 6 months ago)
  • Willingness for occasional travel for training or to assist in the support of remote systems
  • Canadian Citizenship is required
