Looking for your next opportunity?! Our Client is currently looking for a Controller to join their remote team! If you are looking for a new challenge, professional growth and fulfil the following qualifications, this is a role for you!

  • Manage the preparation and analysis of monthly consolidated financial statements for Canadian and Israel companies, meeting USA and Japanese parent company deadlines
  • Review and approve month-end closing reconciliations and journal entries, accounts payable, receivables, cash management, payroll and other finance functions
  • Preparation/review of monthly financial forecasting and annual budget using Budget Maestro and Excel
  • Facilitate and manage the administration, preparation, review, monitoring and reporting of customer sales contracts, NDAs and related activities.
  • Coordinate the quarterly review engagement, annual audit and Japan-Sox (J-SOX) audits preparation and audit fieldwork requests.
  • Perform/review variance analysis to provide reasonableness checks and make recommendations
  • Approve EFT, wire and Ceridian payroll payments within authorized limit
  • Hiring, mentoring, training and managing finance team members
  • Seek, recommend and implement finance process improvements to more efficiently and effectively maintain internal controls, increase accuracy and/or manage risk
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance on strategic financial recommendations
  • Ad-hoc projects as required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years experience in leadership and decision-making roles
  • Chartered Professional Account (CPA) accounting designation or equivalent
  • Bilingualism – English and French
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business technology and accounting standards
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Budget Maestro, SR&ED, foreign exchange and/or US GAAP including ROU leases and Contract Loss analysis (an asset)
  • Business technology experience including system implementations (as asset)
