Senior Quality Assurance /Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Review documentation (e.g. Business Requirements, Use Cases, User Stories etc.) to ensure completeness from a testing perspective;
  • Participate in functional and technical design reviews;
  • Develop QA and/or UAT Test plans and preparing test scenarios, test cases and test data
  • Prepare test data and scenarios;
  • Perform functional testing (e.g. landing, integration, functional, system, exploratory, and regression) and non-functional (e.g. performance, security, compatibility, usability);
  • Estimate test effort(s);
  • Provide status updates regarding progress made;
  • Defect management
  • Use JIRA to manage and maintain test cases and defect management;
  • Capture and document test results;
  • Analyze test results and work with the developers to determine cause of failure
  • Identify and document software defects, following Client’s defect management process;
  • Lead defect review meetings and elaborate on QA findings to support the project team to resolve defects;
  • Report testing progress and test results to project team members and SMT operational managers/team leads;
  • Assist end users with the development, documentation and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test plans, test cases, and test scripts;
  • Transfer knowledge to internal staff;
     
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • 10 years of experience working as a Quality Assurance Specialist/Analyst in a government organization and/or agencies (federal, provincial and Crown corporation).
  • 5 years of demonstrated software testing experience, preparing test plans and strategies, developing and executing test cases and defect management within the last 10 years, as a Quality Assurance Specialist/Analyst on projects that used an Agile and Scrum methodology/approach.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience testing COTS based solutions within the last 10 years on projects that used an Agile and Scrum methodology/approach.
  • 1-year experience working on the implementation of an ITSM tool
  • Hold a valid ITIL Certification Foundation v3.
 
DURATION: 240 days + options
 
 
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Secret
